Police appeal for help after skate park incident
Police have appealed for help in tracking down a man who made inappropriate remarks to a boy in a skate park.
The incident took place at 5.45pm on Monday, May 21, when the boy was near Leatherhead skate park on Kingston Road.
He approached two men and asked them the time. One of the men then made the comments which left the child feeling alarmed.
Detective constable Kevin Baker, from Epsom CID, said: "Although the boy has not shown any signs that this incident has affected him in anyway Surrey Police will not tolerate such behaviour from adults against young children and we need to find the man responsible.
"At this stage we do not know the reason why the man made the comments to the boy and he may not have intended to cause the boy alarm, but I would appeal to anyone who saw a person matching the description on the suspect around the time of the incident to contact us with information."
The man was white, aged in his late teens or early 20s, with curly hair, and was wearing a dark coloured beanie hat.
House-to-house enquiries and high visibility patrols have taken place in the area, but police are urging anyone with information or concerns surrounding the incident to call them on 101 quoting reference MV/12/2077 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
