Some 70 people attended Walton-on-the-Hill May Queen Choosing Day last Saturday 10th March at Breech Lane Community Centre. Plenty of tea and cakes were consumed and there was a lot of interest in the first showing of paintings submitted by Walton Primary School for the Programme Front Page Competition. Firstly, the raffle was drawn - a beautiful flower arrangement donated by Asda, represented by Caroline Hayton.

Then Sophie Voss, our reigning May Queen, was presented with a bouquet and performed her penultimate engagement by undertaking the Draw for the new May Queen and her Attendants. The winners were announced by James Tucker, Master of Ceremonies, and presented with medals by Katie Purkiss. Our new May Queen will be Rhianna Denny - with her Attendants: Kayleigh Fincham, Jennifer Moore, Hanna Edward, Rosalie Clarke, Hanna Blackman and Annabelle Baxter - Spirit of May: Ruby Dingle - Woodland Princess: Elouise McHale - Jack of the Green: Joe Goodwin - and, Chimney Sweep: Finlay Whitehead.

Walton on the Hill May Pageant Day is 19th May.

We have 50 Charity and Craft pitches available and contact details for anyone who wishes to book a stall are on the website.

We donate 100% of our profits to Charity and our main beneficiaries this year are Help For Heroes, The Grange in Bookham and Heathlands House in Walton-on-the Hill.

We would not be able to set up this event without the valued support and goodwill of our community and any Sponsorship or Donations towards insurance cover and site amenities would be most welcome.

Please contact us if you have new ideas for Pageant Day and any help offered is always well-received.
