A student optician from Epsom met the Queen at a recent event when she was chosen to receive an award on behalf of her college.
Chanel McGarry, 21, works at Specsavers on High Street where she studies dispensing optics at the Centre of Applied Sciences in London.
The Queen spent an hour touring the college on March 30 before presenting students and staff with the Excellence in Science Award.
Miss McGarry said: βItβs such a big accolade to win. I was so nervous to be meeting the Queen but she was so friendly, and she spoke to me for ages about my course, I even demonstrated to her how to adjust some glasses frames.β
