Two men have been arrested in connection with a robbery at an Epsom travel agent last Friday.

A 27-year-old man from Tadworth and a 40-year-old man from Morden were arrested yesterday (April 7) in connection with the incident at Thomson on Epsom High Street shortly after 4pm on April 1.

Two masked men demanded that staff open the safe before leaving the store with a significant amount of money in cash, foreign currency and travellers cheques.

The employees were not injured and no customers were in the store at the time.

Detective Constable James Cumming said: “The investigation is on-going and I would appeal to anyone who was in High Street, Epsom, on Friday, April 1, between 4.15pm and 4.45pm to come forward.

“I hope those affected by this robbery are reassured by this development but I urge the community to work with us and provide us with any information which will assist in bringing those responsible to justice.”
