London’s leading company in the field of publishing and digital marketing is seeking to recruit enthusiastic and ambitious executives to join its award-winning south London sales and display team.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work for London’s most iconic newsbrands, including the Surrey Comet, with a rich history dating back to 1854, the Richmond and Twickenham Times and London’s oldest free newspaper, News Shopper.

The role is perfect for anyone looking to develop their marketing skills and sales capability, both in-print and online, with extensive possibilities available for further training and career development via our sales career path, as well as attractive incentives such as the opportunity to win holidays, not to mention, a highly competitive salary.

One staff member currently working for Newsquest in South London is Emma Sallabanks, who has been with the company for eight years and has had the opportunity to significantly develop her career since joining the business.

“I started working for Newsquest’s South West London team when I was 18, having just finished my A levels in business and media studies, and started as a sales executive,” Emma said.

“I grew up in Surbiton, so it was surreal working for a brand like the Surrey Comet and Kingston Comet which was always everywhere around me when I was growing up.

“Working in sales is a very team-based environment and it’s also very social, everyone looks out for each other.

“Winning new customers is important and you also deal with a lot of regular customers and it’s really nice to be able to build up a rapport with them – but it’s also nice to be able to meet up with the rest of the team and head down to the pub on a Friday.”

Employees have access to a wide selection of training opportunities with Newsquest and will have the opportunity to follow different career paths within the company.

“In the last eight years I moved from selling leaflets, to working in telesales, to a focus on marketing for education, and now I work in digital display marketing – which sort of combines everything I have done so far,” Emma added.

“You’re not always stuck behind a desk either, some of the roles I have worked in have meant I’ve been able to travel to speak to a lot of our customers face to face, which can be really nice.

“When I started off working for the company I never would have thought I’d have the amount of skills I do now – that’s one of the great things about working for Newsquest, you are always encouraged to learn new things and are supported with lots of training opportunities.”

Newsquest strives to be at the frontline of the local news industry and the sales team has access to a large arsenal of award winning digital solutions to match industry trends.

Employees have access to the Reach Local product set, a Google Premier Partner and Facebook Premier Partner and Reach Edge, which provides a comprehensive set of digital marketing tools which can provide customers with incredible insight into their marketing spend.

Successful applicants will be rewarded with a competitive salary and bonus scheme, company car and a number of company-wide incentives available to compete for. Some members of the south London team already been awarded bonus holidays this year and have won holidays in group wide sales incentives.

Positions are open to anyone with an interest in working as part of a tight-knit sales team, with any level of sales and media experience considered.
