From the soon-to-be-born Isabella to her 86-year old great great grandmother, this Epsom family is looking forward to spanning five generations.

The Petitt family was featured in the Epsom Guardian in May 1999 for reaching that very same milestone, with the arrival of Isabella’s mum Ellise, who is turning 20 this year.

The arrival of Isabella on October 7 means the family will be spanning five generations of women once again again.

Lynne McKendrick, 63, who will be Isabella’s great grandmother, said: “I’m really excited about this baby. Not everyone is lucky enough to have such a big family.

“But being a great grandmother won’t give me much street cred!”

The great-grandparents Shirley, 83, from Epsom and Lloyd Petitt, 86, from Cobham have four daughters, 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren.

The Petitts will be sailing around the Mediterranean to Barcelona, Monaco and Rome on a cruise to mark their 65th wedding anniversary which will fall on September 5.

The pair met in an Epsom coffeeshop when they were 15 and 18 and got married at St Martin's Church in Epsom in 1953, when they were 18 and 21.
