EE customers are warning others of fraudulent messages asking them to confirm their personal details.

The ‘fake texts’ state that they have been unable to process recent payment and to avoid suspension of services to update your details.

The text tells customers to click on this link - www.updates-id-ee.co.uk - This address has since been BLOCKED by EE.

Unfortunately, these texts started arriving shortly after EE’s legitimate messages about billing, which is causing confusion.

Once they clicked through to the fake site, it looks very similar to EE’s actual site, but under no circumstances should anyone fill in their details on any site they are not 100 per cent sure about.

A spokemans for EE said: "“As soon as our customers started receiving these messages from scammers, our security teams acted swiftly to block and remove the website in the messages to protect our customers.

"We continue to advise any customers who receive any spam messages to not click on any of the links, and delete the messages after forwarding them to 7726, Ofcom’s anti-spam service.”
