Kingswood actor Giles Shenton is returning to The Leatherhead Theatre with a one-man play called My Dog's Got No Nose.

The show is billed as a comedy, but producers say this understates "a wonderful piece of theatre".

Mr Shenton, who used to appear at Kingswood Village Hall, said: "There are a couple of unexpected twists towards the end of the play that leave the audience stunned into silence - not something you often find in comedy shows."

My Dog's Got No Nose was written by West End playwright Ron Aldridge, taking audiences on a journey into the life of a middle-aged man whose one ambition is to be a stand-up comedian.

It has been likened to Alan Bennett's Talking Heads television plays.

The national touring show, produced by local company Kick in the Head, will be at the theatre for two performances on Thursday, June 14.
