An Epsom primary school is celebrating getting a 'good' Ofsted rating in its latest report.

The Vale Primary School, in Beaconsfield Road, has achieved the same rating as it did in 2014.

Four years on, the school on Beaconsfield Road was praised for the positive mindset of the teaching staff and how this was reflected in the children and their attitude towards learning.

“Pupils are happy, productive and proud of their school,” said the report. “The school motto, ‘Inspiring All’, is clearly evident in the way that pupils talk about their work.

"They say that learning is interesting and fun. Pupils talk eagerly about how they are encouraged to ‘dive deeper’ into learning, and how this helps them to progress.

“Pupils value their teachers and the support they receive. They feel that there is a perfect combination of being well cared for, as well as challenged to achieve their best. A pupil summed this up, saying, ‘A good school would be nothing without kind teachers'.”

Co-headteachers Cathy Browne and Sarah Leyland were congratulated for their "ambitious determination" to help pupils succeed.

In addition to the school’s philosophy, teachers’ practical teaching skills were also highlighted.

The inspector found that, no matter what their ability, pupils were challenged and their achievements across the curriculum were well tracked.

Co-headteacher Mrs Browne said: “It was a really strong and encouraging report and we are delighted that the hard work of all our staff and pupils has been acknowledged.”

“It has inspired all of us to continue with a smile, on the journey of improvement that we are on - to ensure the best outcomes for all of our children.”
