An Epsom man has been banned from entering shops across Surrey for three years.

Darren Thomas Beckett, 32, was issued a Criminal Behaviour Order because of his “persistent criminal behaviour” and “blatant disregard” to shops’ banning orders.

Beckett was given an interim CBO to prevent him from stealing in January until he appeared at Staines Magistrates’ Court on February 9, where he was given a full one which lasts until February 8, 2021.

The order bans him from entering the following shops in Surrey:

• Sainsbury’s

• Marks and Spencer

• Cooperative Retail Services

• Boots Lloyds Pharmacy

• TK Maxx

• Cost Cutter

• BP Service Stations

In Epsom he is not allowed to enter:

• Pound Lane Convenience Store

• Epsom News Agency

• Waterloo Road, Epsom

• Epsom Bathroom Centre

• East Epsom except for Sainsbury’s Kiln Lane

If Beckett breaches the order, he could be sent to prison

Epsom Safer Neighbourhood Team PC Tom Arthur said: “We want to reassure the public that anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and by taking positive action against Darren Beckett we are protecting a whole community, including businesses that have a right to be protected.

“I would urge anyone who sees Mr Beckett contravening the conditions of the order to get in touch with us by calling 101 or using report.police.uk.”
