Police are hunting two robbers who targeted a supermarket in Epsom.

The pair, who had their faces covered, allegedly threatened staff and stole a “considerable amount” of cash from the Co-op in Tattenham Corner just after 7am on Sunday, January 21.

One suspect is described as black, about 5ft 10ins, of medium build wearing a black jacket with a hood up and blue beanie underneath, bright blue trousers, black shoes, black gloves and a black scarf covering his face.

The other is described as black, between 5ft 10ins and 6ft tall, of heavy build, wearing grey tracksuit bottoms, a black jacket, black shoes and black gloves.

Detective Sergeant Kerry Akehurst, from East Surrey CID, said: “A considerable amount of money was stolen and staff working in the store were left visibly shaken by this traumatic experience.

“We are determined to trace those responsible and bring them to justice and enquiries remain ongoing.

“If you witnessed the incident or any suspicious activity in or around the area at the time please call us as soon as possible.”
