A severely injured man has been found unconscious and lying in the street in Epsom.

The man, believed to have been assaulted, was discovered with a fractured eye socket and head and rib injuries in Adelphi Road just after 3am on Sunday December 17.

He was taken to hospital, but since regaining consciousness has no memory of how he came to be in the street.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the area around Adelphi Road, the Rifleman pub, and Stir strip club at that time to come forward.

PC Stuart Glover, investigating the case, said: "This is a busy part of town, even in the early hours of the morning, so I am confident that there are people out there who saw how this man came to be injured.

“It is not clear how long he was lying there, so I am keen to speak to anyone that was in that area between 1am and 3am to help understand what they might have seen.”

A man was found in a similar state in the early hours on November 25 but it’s not yet known if these incidents are connected.
