The Leatherhead Theatre’s first repertory season for almost 30 years is beginning in December.

Three plays will be performed by theatre company Hordern Ciani across the season, including Yes, Prime Minister, written by the original TV writers Antony Jay and Jonathan Lynn; The Secret Garden, a new musical adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s novel; and Communicating Doors, by popular playwright Alan Ayckbourn.

Katherine Mount, producer and co-founder of Leatherhead Rep said: “We are so excited to be bringing our rep season to this beautiful theatre, and feel extremely privileged to be working in a facility that was designed for, and was home to repertory theatre for so long. Regional theatres often overlook ‘traditional plays’ in their programming and we feel lucky to have been welcomed here with such open arms, and to be able to restore this wonderful tradition to the local community of Leatherhead.”

The company of nine actors will perform all three shows, rehearsing one play during the day while performing another at night.

A launch event will be held on Monday, December 11, at 7pm.

Tickets for all shows can be bought from the theatre’s box office on 01372 365141 or at theleatherheadtheatre.com.
