Toby Carvery in Ewell has reopened following an extensive refurbishment, and has pledged its support for local charity MERU, which makes life-changing products for children and young people with disabilities.

At the reopening, complete with ceremonial ribbon-cutting, the team from the charity were made guests of honour.

Staff at Toby Carvery have planned fundraising events and activities for the upcoming months to raise money and awareness for the good cause.

Speaking about reopening Toby Carvery Ewell, Sue Pressey from MERU, said: “We’re thrilled to have been given the honour of officially reopening Toby Carvery Ewell, and to have been chosen by the restaurant as its charity partner is absolutely amazing.

“We can’t wait to continue working with the Toby Ewell team to help raise funds and awareness for our cause. They have some great looking local events in the pipeline to support the MERU and we’re sure they’ll be well received within the local community.”

The new-look restaurant in Cheam Road has resumed serving roasts to diners since the reopening on October 21, and eight new jobs have been created.

General manager Caroline Castilo said: “We’re so pleased at how brilliant Toby Carvery Ewell looks following the refurbishment, and we were thrilled to have had MERU cut the ceremonial ribbon for us.

“MERU is such a great charity, and the work they do to help young people and children with disabilities is brilliant to see. They’re such an integral part of the local community and we’re really excited to get stuck in and support them.

“For many, the great British roast is the ultimate heart-warming food, and we just can’t wait to serve the people of Ewell, Epsom and surrounding areas a traditional dinner in our fresh surroundings. With our specially trained chefs, friendly and attentive team, and our warm and welcoming atmosphere, guests will find their new look Toby Carvery is the perfect place to get together and enjoy a delicious roast dinner.”
