A woman was left bruised and distressed after allegedly being knocked to the ground by a car in a ‘road rage incident’.

The woman reported a silver Audi estate being driven dangerously and nearly colliding with her own car in Tadworth last week.

Both drivers then stopped in Chapel Road at about 8.20pm on Wednesday, June 21.

The driver of the Audi – said to be a black man with a light complexion, between 28 and 32 years old, and about five foot six inches and of muscular build – then allegedly approached the woman and racially abused her and pushed her several times.

As he drove away, the Audi driver reportedly collided with the woman in her 40s, knocking her to the ground, Surrey Police stated.

The woman suffered bruising to her legs.

The Audi driver is said to have been wearing a plain white t-shirt, grey shorts and spoke with a London accent.

PC Todd McPhail, said “This was a particularly nasty occurrence which left the victim very distressed and it is lucky that she wasn’t seriously injured.

“Surrey Police will not tolerate such behaviour on the county's roads and an investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident is being carried out.

"I am urging any other road users or pedestrians who were in the vicinity at the time of this incident to think about whether they might have witnessed this reported offence or the manner of driving in the events around it.”
