Weird Tinder dates and STD checks make up an Ashtead comedian’s musical that has been announced for the Edinburgh Fringe festival this year.
Tamar Broadbent will perform Get Ugly – a comedy she describes as being about “re-discovering your awesome-ness and embracing life without a filter” – at the world-famous arts festival in August.
The comedian, write, actor, singer and award-winning songwriter, Tamar has toured her solo musical comedy shows around the UK and internationally, including at the Prague Comedy Festival earlier this month.
The regular on the UK comedy circuit will perform the 60-minute musical every day at 5.30pm between Wednesday, August 2 and Monday, August 28, with the exception of Monday, August 14.
Tamar explained: “This show is about learning how to value yourself again after someone has made you feel like nothing.
She added: “I've been to Australia and back with it and the audience response has been overwhelming.
“We've all been through heartbreaks, and Get Ugly celebrates how sometimes you have to get 25 per cent uglier to realise you are 100 per cent awesome.”
