Thousands of people took part in the Walton on the Hill Pageant and Fayre 2017 on Saturday.

Residents of all ages from Walton on the Hill, Tadworth, Kingswood and Epsom gathered to watch a procession from The Blue Ball to the Fayre Green.

The procession started at 2pm and included groups of children from nurseries, Cubs, Scouts, Rainbows and Brownies, dressed up in the pageant’s London Underground theme.

Shops and homes along the route had also been decorated accordingly.

At the green, the Mayor of Reigate and Banstead, Cllr David Powell, could be seen laughing and dancing.

The fayre also involved the crowning ceremony of the new May Queen, Annagail peeler; a dog show; a raffle and stalls raising money for charities.

This year’s main beneficiaries were the Motor Neurone Disease Association, Diabetes UK and the British Heart Foundation.
