Residents took to social media to express concerns about the mess, while a video showed a car mounting the curb to avoid risking a puncture on broken glass.

“There’s glass all over the road. They will shred their tyres,” Clare Cruise tweeted.

Anne-Marie Archard wrote that she was “disgusted” at the mess left on the residential road near Stoneleigh train station.

County council highways officers are clearing the bulk of the mess left in Rosedale Road before borough council officers clear the remainder, an Epsom and Ewell Borough Council spokesman advised.
