A man has been charged with taking and making indecent images of children ‘getting changed after sports sessions’ at school.

Andy Robson, 42, of Leslie Road, Dorking, was charged with two counts of taking indecent images of children and two further counts of making indecent images of children this week.

He will appear at Staines Magistrates’ Court on Friday, May 26.

The offences are alleged to have started in 2010.

‘Making’ indecent images typically means downloading.

The head of Ewell Castle School wrote to parents this week informing them of Mr Robson being charged.

In a letter to parents on Monday (April 24), principal Peter Harris wrote: “I would like to take this opportunity to reassure you of the robust safeguarding and child protection measures that are in place at Ewell Castle School, and to reiterate the school’s commitment to safeguarding and the protection and wellbeing of children”.

In the letter, Surrey Police have said its investigation relates to “a number of images that appear to have been recorded covertly, consisting of groups of children getting changed following school sporting activities”.

The police spokesperson added the police are confident there is “no evidence to suggest [the images] have been shared with anyone else or distributed via the internet.”
