Kingstonian are offering free travel to and from homes games next year in a bid to keep attendances up when the club moves to Leatherhead.

A “K’s coach” will take supporters to and from games at Leatherhead’s Fetcham Grove, with Ks moving there for the start of next season.

The 10-mile move from Kingsmeadow, announced last month, sparked fears among supporters that some fans would not make the journey.

Attendances at the ground have been relatively low this season despite being located near Kingston town centre.

Ks have to move as leaseholders AFC Wimbledon have sold the ground to Premier League leaders Chelsea.

A Kingstonian spokesman said: “What is clear to us is that a significant factor deciding the location of the ground share for next season from those we spoke to was both the location and the logistics of getting to and from that location.

“Further to that, we are aware that for those on low incomes, students and fans past retirement age, the cost of getting to and from Leatherhead could be prohibitive to them getting their bi-weekly fix of K's action.

“This is not something we ever wanted to sign up to and most importantly we need to look after that part of our fan base.”

The coach will be provided by joint-chairman Mark Anderson’s coach company Anderson Travel.

It will pick up supporters from Tiffin Boys, Tolworth Broadway and Hook Rise and travel straight to the ground for Saturday and Monday night games.
