A schoolgirl was touched inappropriately by a man outside a Ewell newsagent’s this week.

The 15-year-old got off a school bus in Ewell High Street at about 3.30pm on Monday, September 26 and went into a newsagent’s with her friend.

As she left the shop, an unknown man bumped into her and touched her inappropriately, before walking away towards Spring Street.

The suspect is described as white, aged between 40 and 55 years old, about 6ft tall, of a large build with grey hair with white streaks and had a stubbly beard. He was wearing a white Slazenger zip-up top and dark blue jeans. He smelt like he hadn’t washed for a few days.

Detective Constable Steven Cassidy from East Surrey Criminal Investigation Department, said: “This happened at a busy time of day after school and I am urging anybody who was in the area and witnessed the incident or saw anybody acting suspiciously to contact us.

“I am particularly keen to hear from a female driver who wound down her window and spoke to the victim asking if she was OK. If you are that female driver please get in touch with us.”

“There was also a number boys believed to be from Ewell Castle School nearby who may be able to help our investigation.”
