Cameron McGeechan will move a step closer to home should he make a switch to Championship side Brentford.

The Bees are thought to be among a number of suitors - including Reading MK Dons and Barnsley - interested in signing Luton Town's Northern Ireland U21 international, who is valued at around £500,000 by the Hatters.

The 21-year-old midfielder, who was signed by Chelsea as a 10-year-old for £80,000 before spells with Norwich City anbd Cambridge United, started his career in the same Molesey Juniors U8s team that produced Manchester United's Luke Shaw.

Manchester City's Patrick Roberts - currently on loan at Celtic - and Woking FC's Max Kretzschmar are also Molesey alumni.

Meanwhile, the Bees are reported to be in talks with Walsall over a deal to bring left back Rico Henry to Griffin Park, where he will link up with former boss Dean Smith and team-mate Romaine Sawyers.

The Bees are also in the hunt for a winger prior to the closure of the transfer window on Wednesday and have seen an £800,000 bid for Gillingham's Gboly Ariyibi rejected.
