Epsom guides were shown that women can do anything earlier this month by the only woman to have rowed the Atlantic Ocean twice.

Sally Kettle visited 12th Epsom Guide troop on Thursday, July 7, to share stories of her adventures.

Ms Kettle has raised over £500,000 for charity, trekked across the Pyrenees, created a documentary on the South Atlantic’s wildlife and worked as a humanitarian aid worker.

Her courageous achievements have inspired the Guides to embrace all their opportunities and to be adventurous.

Ms Kettle was a former Brownie, Guide and Young Leader, which has led her to continue supporting the organisation and become an Ambassador for Girlguiding.

She said: “As a Brownie, Guide and Young Leader, I came away with the knowledge that women can do anything!

“The charity gives girls a voice so they can change their futures for the better, and I’m extremely proud to be part of it.”

Epsom Guide Sophie, 11 said: “As Sally told us of her adventures it made me realise that anything is possible no matter how scary!”
