Local people have under a week to register their views on the future of The New Epsom and Ewell Community Hospital (NEECH).

Surrey Downs Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), the GP-led body which buys healthcare services for 30,000 people, is carrying out a review of five community hospitals in its jurisdiction.

From January: Have your say on GPs' plans for Molesey, Cobham, New Epsom and Ewell, Leatherhead and Dorking community hospitals

The consultation which ends on Thursday (May 5th), includes among its four options a proposal to transfer the impatient ward and some outpatient therapy services at NEECH to Epsom Hospital.

From March: Health bosses to decide on future of five community hospitals after four-week consultation

Other outpatient services could be transferred to GP surgeries.

James Blythe, director of commissioning and strategy at the CCG insisted no decisions have been made and urged residents to have their say.

“All responses will be fed into the final report, produced by an independent research company once the consultation has closed, which will help inform the final outcome,” he said.
