Epsom book fair raised almost £32,000 for local charities in its 15th year last weekend – breaking its fundraising record for the second year in a row.

More than 2,000 bookworms dug through crates containing tens of thousands of books, CDs, DVDs and records between Thursday, February 18 and Saturday, February 20 at Epsom Methodist Church in Ashley Road.

The huge sum raised will support Action for Children, Hope 4 Malawi, The Rainbow Trust, Phab, Epsom scout and guide groups, and Epsom and Ewell Foodbank.
Andrew Jennings, Jacqui Raggett and Ian Parker – all members of the church – organise the fair every year, and are already planning to make next year even bigger and better.

Mr Jennings said: “It was a really nice atmosphere in the place.
“There were so many books that some people came back on all three days.
“It brings a real sense of community.
“We’ve had so many positive comments about how much fun it was.”
