The River Mole has received 20mm of rain in the past 12 hours and has caused river levels to rise at Leatherhead and Downside Bridge in Cobham.
The Environment Agency has issued a Flood Alert for the River Mole and its tributaries - covering an area including Leatherhead and Stoke D'Abernon.
The alert means residents should be prepared for flooding.
A statement on the Environment Agency website said: “River levels are expected to peak through Monday afternoon.
"We do not expect any properties to flood.”
