Emergency services attended the crash, at the junction of Rushett Lane and Leatherhead Road, just after 10pm last night.

The large trailer had been transporting the hay from a local field when the crash happened.

A spokesman for Kingston police said: "The fire brigade were called to the scene and using their skills and equipment were very quickly able to get the driver out of the car.

"Luckily the driver only had minor injuries but was taken to hospital as a precaution."

No arrests were made, and the road was reopened at midnight.
