Several vehicles crashed on the M25 during rush hour yesterday evening.
Two lanes were closed on the anti-clockwise side of the motorway between junction 10, near Wisley, and junction 9, at Leatherhead, at 5pm. A spokesman at Leatherhead fire station said he believed four cars and two vans were involved in the traffic accident.
He said: "All we did was scene safety, no-one was trapped."
A Highways Agency said they had a record of four vehicles involved in the crash, but it was a police-led operation. Two lanes were closed until about 6.20pm.
