Thousands flocked to a colourful May pageant featuring hundreds of children dressed as animals, butterflies, bumble bees and giant caterpillars on Saturday.
Bikers, Morris men and band members also took part in the Walton May Pageant through the village of Walton-on-the-Hill.
Thousands of people flocked to the May festivities which included maypole dancing, Terrier racing and the crowning of this year’s queen, Chloe Gleeson.
Ann Liddle, from the May pageant committee, said: "We had a wonderful day. The weather was beautiful and I would say there were 3,000 or more people. It was absolutely packed."
Mrs Liddle said television actor Matt Bardock, who has starred in Casualty and A Touch of Frost, also took part in the celebrations on Saturday.
She said: "He went round and judged the best dressed shops, schools and homes before the procession started and gave out the prize trophies to the winners."
The pageant raised money for a number of charities and its main beneficiaries will be the Royal Marsden, St Peter’s Church and Jigsaw4u.
