Two friends helped TV presenter Dermot O’Leary raise £640,000 for Comic Relief by dancing with him in a 24-hour dance-a-thon.

Shayna Buckenham, 18, and Paris Phillips, 17, both from Epsom, attend the prestigious Brit School for performing arts, in Croydon.

They completed a 12-hour stint during O’Leary's dance marathon.

Ms Buckenham’s mother Angela said: "They got home at 9.30pm exhausted but my daughter still managed to get up at 6.30am the next day to attend her Saturday dance school where she has gone since she was 10 years old.

"Her commitment and dedication is something which continues to amaze me. They are both very talented dancers who wish to pursue this as their career."
