A 13-year-old boy was kicked in the head and had a knife pulled on him in a vicious attack at a train station.

Police have now released CCTV images and launched an appeal over the attack in Ewell on Saturday, January 24.

The images show a young woman and two young men standing on a train.

Epsom and Ewell Safer Neighbourhood Team posted on Facebook: "We are looking for the following people in relation to an assault on a 13-year-old boy.

"These persons below were travelling towards Raynes Park and exited at Ewell West station where the boy was assaulted by being punched and kicked in the head and then a knife was pulled on him.

"It is believed these persons then got back on the train towards Raynes Park."

The victim's mother Sharon Morris asked for everybody to share the police team's appeal on Facebook.

In a comment on the post, Ms Morris said: "He's fine thank God he has bounced back. It was a horrible ordeal though."

She added: "Please share the post, the more people that see it the better."

She described them as English and said police told her that a motorist reported the attack.

Maria Furtek also posted: "My heart goes out to the young man and his family.

"I hope they find these nasty cowardly thugs and they get their just deserts. Carrying a knife too - makes my blood boil."

Carrie Baxter said: "Why do people think it's OK to beat other people and kids at that, it really doesn't make them look big.

"Hope your son is OK Sharon Morris, he sounds like a tough cookie. I'd be beside myself if it was one of mine."

Rob Wenlock said: "What cowards, a 13-year-old boy? Disgusting behaviour, hope they are brought to justice and the young lad is OK."

Zoe Prowse added: "Hope your son's OK Sharon Morris. Such a cruel, awful world we live in...disgusting beyond words."
