A lesbian couple will be reviving their heroes when they bring their two hander show to Epsom.
Surrey-born Alison Child and partner Rosie Wakley will star in All The Nice Girls, which they wrote together.
The story centres on the largely forgotten performing duo Gwen Farrar and Norah Blaney, who were also partners and stars during the First World War.
"We feel like we are bringing them back to life," said Alison.
"It has become a real fascination for us to spread the story about them, because they were so big in their day, but fell off the radar due to the backlash against lesbians."
The story will chronicle the careers of the performing duo - from their lighthearted beginnings to the bitter end.
"There’s something for everyone. Children enjoy the silly laughs and the songs at the beginning, but the main thing about the show is its heart," she added.
The show has been playing in Brighton and Alison has taken a chance in bringing it back to her home county.
She said: "It’s a bit of a gamble, but I still have friends around there, who promised they’ll come with their families, so seeing some familiar faces will hopefully make it easier."
