A five-month-old baby will join family and friends as they embark on a 14-mile walk in aid of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

The group of 12 will participate in The Marsden March on March 22 in memory of Sharon Cooling, 53, who died from a brain tumour last year after a 10 year battle with cancer.

Among those taking part in the sponsored walk between the hospital’s sites in Chelsea and Sutton are Ms Cooling’s daughter Emma, her five-month-old baby Emily and a cousin, who will travel more than 3,300 from Dubai to join the team.

Emma Cooling, 32, who lives in Epsom, said: “The size of the group is testament to the person mum was - she was loved by a lot of people.

“The fitness and enthusiasm for exercise varies within the team but we all gain our inspiration from the bravery and strength she showed throughout her illness and we will use this to complete the challenge.”
