Families flocked to the first-ever Christmas street party in Upper High Street, Epsom, on Friday evening.
The evening featured a Santa’s grotto, treasure hunt, mulled wine, a choir, steel band and street entertainment.
Lots of the local shops and business got together to put on the festive evening, with help from community Facebook page What's on in Epsom.
Tara Daniells, owner of So Lippy, said: "It was the first time Upper High Street has had something like that. I think it went really well."
A spokeswoman for Epsom’s performing arts college Laine Theatre Arts said their choir sang carols that evening and at a Christmas charity event on Sunday.
She said: "Many will shortly be going off to do pantomimes around the country and it certainly kicked off the Christmas season for them."
EJ Alden, one of the singers, said: "It was a Christmas treat and a lovely evening and everybody made us feel very welcome.
"It was fascinating to see the excitement in the children’s faces when they heard us singing their favourite Christmas tunes.
"I feel very proud being part of the Laine choir, adding to the community spirit and raising money for charity."
