A man has been jailed for five years after he was found hiding drugs in a Kinder Egg and a gun in his sock at his home.

Warren Christopher, of Chavecroft Terrace, Epsom, pleaded guilty to seven offences - two counts of possessing a class A drug with intent to supply, possessing a firearm without a certificate, possessing a firearm when prohibited, possessing ammunition without a firearm certificate, and two counts of possessing class A drugs.

These were all found at his home.

Surrey Police searched his home on August 9 in response to intelligence from the community.

On seeing officers arriving at the address, Christopher ran off, but was questioned and interviewed three days later.

Police officers found drug wraps, some of which were located inside a yellow Kinder Egg container in the kitchen.

More wraps were found in his bedroom as well as a handgun concealed in a sock, and cash and ammunition.

He also admitted to being in breach of a suspended sentence for having a blade when he appeared at Guildford Crown Court yesterday, October 20.

Detective Constable Hannah Millyard, investigating officer, said: "This sentence demonstrates that when members of the public come forward with their concerns about illegal activity in their community, we will act."
