An entrepreneur who makes and sells spicy sauces has got some hot advertising space for free after winning a billboard competition.

Anuli Obienu, 44, founded Intoxyque in Stoneleigh three years ago and her business is featured on a billboard which went up in Collingwood Road, Sutton, last week.

Ms Obienu said: "I felt so ecstatic to have been told I won. And I felt absolutely elated seeing my business on a huge billboard today.

"As I took the pictures today, I told bemused passers-by 'that's my business, that's my business!' And I got lots of congratulations and well wishes from them all."

Ms Obienu took part in a video competition run by insurance company Simply Business at the Elite Business Exhibition in London in April.

She said: "I had 30 seconds to talk about what I will rather do than talk about business insurance. I had a few minutes spare walking around the exhibition and I thought ‘why not?’.

"I recorded my ‘vent’ in their booth and forgot all about it. I was so excited when I was contacted a few months later to be told I had won a billboard to be placed local to my business for a whole month!"

Ms Obienu uses fresh ingredients to make condiments in small batches in her kitchen.

She said: "For years I made my own condiments as I couldn't find any delicious condiments that were free from sugar and vinegar and it soon became a hit with friends and family.

"And three years ago, I decided to formally turn it into a business! We have been humbled by the support we have received as a business.

"And for friends and acquaintances who have watched us grow from scratch, we have encouraged a few to make that step in fulfilling a dream of starting up their own business too."
