The Mayor of Epsom and Ewell officially opened a school’s new nursery building on Friday.
The mayor, Councillor Colin Taylor, opened the building at Ewell Castle School’s Chessington Lodge bright and modern nursery building, which can house up to 40 students in Spring Street, Ewell.
Michelle Phillips, head of the junior school, said: "The staff and I are thrilled with our new bespoke nursery suite which is multi-functional, hi-specification and aesthetically pleasing.
"Indeed, it would not be out of place on Grand Designs!
"All of our 200 children (at Chessington Lodge pre-prep) are able to use the facility since it is not just a nursery but an area where we hold events and assemblies, and is a fantastic edition to the facilities we already provide.
"It has certainly generated a great deal of enthusiasm and commitment from visitors and prospective parents too."
A school spokeswoman said that by September Roan Buildings had installed pre-fabricated units and the new nursery building was ready to welcome staff and new pupils.
Geoff Holland, bursar at the school, said: "Roan Buildings were very proactive, they spent time solving issues and understanding our requirements."
