A busking councillor picked up his ukulele and played When I'm Cleaning Windows at a shopping mall for charity on Saturday.
Epsom and Ewell Councillor George Crawford, 71, performed a selection of songs at the Ashley Centre by comedian George Formby along with other hits including Is This the Way to Amarillo.
Coun Crawford will be returning again this Saturday, this time with his guitar, to entertain shoppers in aid of charity the Butterfly Appeal, which supports a cancer care centre at Epsom Hospital.
Coun Crawford said: "I’m entitled to make a fool of myself if we make some money. We had a lot of fun on Saturday."
He said that he is not used to playing in public and he usually just plays in his room to entertain himself, adding: "It will be a very short-lived career."
Coun Crawford, whose late wife had MS, said he has always been a great supporter of Epsom Hospital and he was talked into busking by Nancy Richmond who started the Butterfly Appeal with her husband Roy in 1991.
He said: "It is such a good local charity."
Catch Coun Crawford playing hits by musicians such as Lonnie Donegan between 10.30am and 12.30pm outside the House of Fraser in the Ashley Centre on Saturday.
