Winning designs by schoolchildren have been printed on Christmas cards to raise money for health and well-being projects.

The competition was won by two girls from schools in Epsom, a boy from a school in Worcester Park and another from a school in Leatherhead.

More than 100 children entered the contest run by social enterprise Central Surrey Health for its new Community Fund, which awards grants to projects.

Amy Langhurst, 6, from St Martin’s Infant School, Epsom, and Louis Blacker, 11, from West Hill School, Leatherhead, drew pictures of snowmen to win.

Sarah Newman, 10 from Danetree School in Epsom, drew a Christmas tree indoors and Freddie Miller, 13, from Linden Bridge School, Worcester Park, created an angel and snowman.

Sam Scarrott, one of the Community Fund panel members and competition judges, said: "We were so pleased with the response from local children to our competition.

"With over 100 brilliant designs, judging proved really hard, but these four designs stood out.

"We are grateful to the schools and our co-owners for supporting the project, which will see money being ploughed back into local communities."

The winning designs are being sold in packs of 12 cards for £5 at local schools and among staff. You can also obtain them by emailing rebecca.jones16@nhs.net
