Personal Overview - A local man with experience as a Councillor, he held this boundary altered seat for the Conservatives in 2010. Politically, his main interests cover health and crime, it is notable that the NHS saved his life as a child when seriously ill. He also has experience at the centre of Conservative politics, as a former Party Chief Operating Officer and has also been associated with the party's approach of targeting key seats used at the 2010 General Election under the auspices of Lord Ashcroft. He was also a Special Advisor on Local Government, Housing and Urban Regeneration to John Gummer MP (as Secretary of State for the Environment) prior to the 1997 General Election. Personal Overview - Elected to the European Parliament from third place on the London Conservative Party list. Has been involved running a small business for over 23 years with experience negotiating in in Europe on behalf of her UK clients. She has campaigned to reduce regulation on business, reducing EU waste and fraud and on the sensible managing of migration. She also has experience raising funds for charity, as a former Chair of the Mayor of Barnet's Charity Appeal 2005/06 raising money for the mental health charity MIND.
