Personal Overview - Has local government experience in the area, as the local Councillor for Ilford North, where he has held the responsibility for regeneration. He has shown support for the economic redevelopment of the area as well as improvement in local transport, including linking the Central line to Stansted Airport. He has also been Governor of several local schools and does a great deal of charitable work. He has worked with the first President Bush (1988-92) and other political figures in his role as a fundraiser for a large national charity. He has also Chaired the Essex Friends of Israel Group. Within Parliament he has shown an interest in transport issues, having been a Select Committee member and a Secretary of the All Party Light Rail Group. Personal Overview - Elected to the European Parliament from third place on the London Conservative Party list. Has been involved running a small business for over 23 years with experience negotiating in in Europe on behalf of her UK clients. She has campaigned to reduce regulation on business, reducing EU waste and fraud and on the sensible managing of migration. She also has experience raising funds for charity, as a former Chair of the Mayor of Barnet's Charity Appeal 2005/06 raising money for the mental health charity MIND.
