Concert to tell the story of two war-crime survivors

The son of two war-crime survivors is using his experiences to inspire in a concert dedicated to the tragedy.
Roberto Garcia parents were both evacuated from Bilbao in civil war-torn Spain at the height of the conflict in 1937.
On April 26 that year the small Basque town of Guernica was almost completely destroyed by bombs dropped from German and Italian planes - an incident immortalised by painter Picasso.
Garcia’s parents escaped their homeland ahead of this tragedy and amazingly came to marry in the UK many years later.
The storyteller is joined by musicians Bernard Sullivan, na-mara and Los Amigos for a night dedicated to the memory of the conflict and of Guerica.
