A brasserie opening by the river in Battersea this autumn promises to use all-British ingredients throughout.
All-day restaurant Nutbourne, coming to the old Ransome’s Dock site in Parkgate Road, is owned by brothers Richard, Oliver and Gregory Gladwin whose prior projects have included The Shed in Notting Hill and Rabbit in Chelsea.
Named after the family farm and vineyard in West Sussex where the brothers grew up, it promises a taste of rural life with ingredients coming from the farm as well as from local suppliers or foraging.
Nutbourne will be open from 8am serving breakfasts through to large mains on an open grill.
Making the most of its waterside location, the 65-seat restaurant has an extra 40-cover outside space complete with palm trees, festoon lighting, water troughs, foliage, lily pads and a vine from their vineyard.
In a statement brothers Richard and Oliver said: “With Nutbourne we wanted to create a community restaurant for Battersea locals.
“We both live in and love this area and we hope that we’ve created a space that caters to all the tastes of people from here and the surrounding areas. We look forward to welcoming you to our secret garden soon.”
