Fifty Shades of Grey quickly came to media attention after its publication in 2011 as it became the top selling novel in the UK and USA in 2012.
With the film to be released on Valentine’s Day next year, it is sure to drum up a media storm.
Director Sam Taylor-Wood, who was born in Croydon, said: "It’s going good, I’m editing it right now, so I’m deep in the thick of it.'
Not only is the director of the film born in Croydon, but Patrick Marber, the screenwriter, was raised in Wimbledon.
With the trailer to be released this week and American TV shows claiming they won’t show the full trailer, it will be one to look out for in the coming months.
