Heavy horses move in for three-day country show

Morden Hall Park is using the May bank holiday to host a feast of country delights.

The National Trust property will be opening its doors to sheep, birds and horses on Saturday, May 5 for their annual three-day country show.

Visitors can expect heavy horse demonstrations, falconry displays, dog and duck herding and morris dancing.

Canine companions are also invited to take part in a dog show with all proceeds going to Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Other activities include basket making, braiding, spinning and weaving, pole latheing and bee keeping as well as cookery demonstrations and wine tasting.

The mayor of Merton, Councillor Gilli Lewis-Lavender and her consort, Brian Lewis-Lavender, will be officially opening the show at 11.30pm on Saturday, May 5.
