Sutton twins get identical A-level results
Two twins will study together at university after achieving identical A-Level results.
18-year-old Alex and Rebecca McGoran, from Glenthorne High School in Sutton, both scored two As and a B.
They are now preparing to study Biological Sciences together at Royal Holloway University.
Rebecca said: "We have a bit of a love/hate relationship. We can be very competitive, but we help to spur each other on. I’m really glad we got the same results, but we’ve already started to go through our grades point by point to see who got the highest score."
Alex said: "We help to make each other better. We’re competitive, but we help each other when we can and it’s been really good for both of us to have someone living in the next room who we can go through our homework with."
The twins’ competitive streak comes out when they practise karate and Alex said: "When people watch us wrestle they think we’re really tough.
"But as soon as we fight anyone else our softer side comes out."
Glenthorne High School achieved its best ever A-Level results this year.
Headteacher Steve Hume said: "This year’s results are the best the school has ever had. I’m so proud of all our students and I know they’ll be an inspiration to younger pupils.
"Everyone who got their results today should be very pleased with their achievements. There have been many outstanding individual performances at Glenthorne, but Alex and Rebecca’s are some of the best."
